Silk Naturals Mini Haul

I got my Silk Naturals mini haul the other day. I ordered this last December and it probably got stuck in customs :-(

I only got a FS Cherry Crush lipgloss and the mini fiber optic brush.

The FO brush is tiny. I washed it yesterday and tried using it today and I noticed the shedding. Every time I swiped the brush across my cheeks 2 or 3 bristles would come off. I hope this is just an initial phase. I still have to practice using this brush coz I am not used to such a small brush head for applying cheek color.

My order came with 2 freebies: Crinoline Mineral Glow and a Tender lip gloss sample.

I like the color of the Cherry Crush lip gloss so much!

Photos show Cherry Crush swatch on my hand, on my lips without flash (true color) and with flash.

This is my first tube of Silk Naturals liquid lip color. I like the texture of it because it is not sticky and did not dry out my lips like all Silk Naturals lippies. The color looks berry-ish on me and is not too bright red. It lasted longer on my lips than a regular lip gloss.

Mail Day: Birthday Packages

Another mail day for me. These are actually my "birthday gifts" but they just arrived since I ordered them during the July 4th sales and the 3rd was my b-day.

Silk Naturals: This package I got a couple of days ago with a review in the previous post. I got a refill bag of the Heavy Formula (not in photo), a sample jar of Tempt Tryst bronzer (not in photo), 2 lippies and 2 solid perfume samples.

SN

Swatch of the lippies; Berry Crush on the left and Rare Berry on the right.

I thought Rare Berry would come out a bit strong but it's not. I actually like it. Too bad it's not a permanent line. I hope Karen finds the missing recipe for Rare Berry. And like the other lipglosses from SN, they are all very moisturising on the lips and not sticky.

I like the Fresh solid perfume since it's a citrus smell -- grapefruit. Tease was okay (vanilla and tea something scent) but it really didn't stand out for me. I haven't tried them out for a full day to say if the scent lasts long though. Will re-try it again.

Dreamworld: I got FS of Angel and Cafe Au Lait creme toppings both in clay/silica formula which work wonderfully for my oily skin. I also got a FS of Blushing Werewolf, an LE blush.

I had a sample before of Peanut Butter creme topping but it turned out to be a bit dark on me. It could be used as a contour powder though. Good thing it was the lighter version of Peanut Butter I got which is Cafe Au Lait. And all along I thought it was Butter that I ordered (memory gap, LOL!). I now have 3 fullsized jars of the Creme Toppings and I want to get some other shades. Too bad I ordered before they changed the jars to 30 gr. ones. The ones I have were in the 20 gr. jars.

Lauress: I got the Trio Kit of fullsizes in Pure Yellow Minimalist, Fantastic Finish in Medium and Chiffon Enhancer.

Lauress

This came as a freebie: Star Light e/s in Deja Vu.

Deja Vu
Lauress foundation in the Minimalist formula (with only 4 or 5 ingredients) is one of my HG foundations because it stays on well on my oily skin. It is also one of the most photogenic mineral makeup I've ever used. Definitely one of my best buys that this package is the 1st of 2 FS foundations I got while they were on sale. The other one is coming in a week or 2. (I hoarded while I can).

LA Minerals: these are all sample baggies for $1 each, free shipping anywhere in the world. I haven't tried any of them yet but I will in the next few days.

LA Minerals

In photo are the following samples; top row L-R: Bronzed Babe in Lit Up, Lush Blush in Pimped Mauve, On Stage Illuminizer; bottom row L-R: Oil Control Mattifying Powder in Medium, Hollywood Face Base Untinted, Hollywood Face Base in Medium Warm and Medium Dark Warm. Hoping these turn out good as well as the others :-)

SN Heavy Coverage Formula, Dayna's Blushes

I just got my last Silk Naturals order a few days ago and today mixed up some of the Heavy foundation formula with my current jar of the original light coverage formula. The mix I made was 6:2:6 of Ivory:Buttery Gold:Ebony. I did this twice to even out the 12 scoops of Ivory Light Coverage in my current jar.

I think this made my mix sort of a Medium Coverage, right (Light + Heavy)? However, when I tried it out on my face the effect was sooo much better than the original SN foundation. More coverage definitely. What more if I just used the Heavy formula straight on it's own. This is such good news!!!

I also tried out some of the blushes Dayna sent with my order before from her own line of Dayna's Minerals. I tried Empress' New Clothes (pinky-brown) which I initially thought didn't show up on me. It is really an e/s but Dayna said she uses it as a blush, too. I added a second layer and took a closer look. The blush colored my face without looking like a "blush" but like a contouring powder. It really was pretty.

Next one I tried out was Coral Breeze (coral with slight pink finish). Now this is really pretty, too. Usually, these shades don't show up or look good on me but this one did. It wasn't too bright and with just one layer it showed up. Dayna's blushes sure are pigmented.

I applied these 2 blushes using my Lumiere flat-top brush as an experiment. I was amazed that the blushes looked airbrushed on me. Maybe because of the buffing. I'll try it out again another day.

I'll post pictures once I transfer them to the PC although they don't really look good (my face was shiny) coz I was just experimenting in the late afternoon and in a very hot and humid weather.

Today is the last day of Sweetscents' Spring Sale and I couldn't resist because of the good reviews of this product (and Hide-A-Pore).

Until the next haul which is Mode Cosmetics (from Moosie's post before). Well, actually my friend already asked for my list of stuff to order and I hope she'll be able to get this. My shade is #216 Medium Tan from Mode's email to me and from my gauge on what my possible shade is. Crossing my fingers.

Saturday Night Out

DH and I went to his induction as a Diplomate of The Philippine Board of Surgery. It was held at the EDSA Sangri-la Hotel so I took my sweet time getting ready.
FOTN (face of the night):

Pure Luxe Cream eraser as Primer
Ocean Mist Foundation in Sandstone (3 layers)
Aromaleigh Pure Concealer in # 5
Silk Naturals Perfecting Powder
Ocean Mist Saffron concealer under eyes
Aromaleigh Coquille powder in Nectarine
Blush: Lumiere Hibiscus
Dayna's Glow powder in Golden Zephyr on nose bridge
a palette mix of BE Rose Radiance, Lumiere Natural Radiance and Dayna's Peach Glow on top of blush, and T-zone
Lips: Aromaleigh listick in Cognac
Eyes:
UDPP Primer Potion
Silk Naturals Unblush all over lid as base
Meow Ideal Eyes Breakfast at Kitty's from lashline to crease
Meow Ideal Eyes You Had Me at Meow on crease
Meow Ideal Eyes Catablanca on outer V
Dayna's Glow powder in Golden Zephyr as highlight on brow bone
MAD's Magnetism indelible gelliner on upper and lower lashline and brows
lashes curled, no mascara
My hair:I put it into a twisted ponytail. This looks complicated but it really isn't. I used a tool to do this. You put your hair in a loose ponytail first then insert the stick with a loop at the end in the middle of the ponytail near your scalp. The loose end of your hair is inserted into the loop and you just pull it out until the hair twists...and that's it!

Here's a shot of my shoe (which I really love):

It's by VNC ( I think it's a Malaysian brand) and they ake really soft and comfortable shoes even if they're high heels. You can run in them and your feet won't hurt. Plus it's not that expensive, too.
Nail polish is China Glaze in Melbourne Mauve. I also put on some Palmer's Leg Gloss.
We had a great night and the food was good.

**I'm proud of you DH!

Busy Weekend

The past weekend was really busy. Saturday, we had lunch with family friends since one of them would be going back to the Vatican in Rome where he is based. (He's a priest and he performed the marriage rites in my wedding a few years ago and he'll be coming back March of next year for my brother's wedding). I had on Silk Naturals Perfect Harmony topped with their Perfecting Powder. Eyes: Pureluxe Golden Sands all over lid then Chocolate Blueberries from lashline to crease. Blush is Babydoll (a local mmu line) in Strawberry Smoothie. Lips: Maybelline 3D Pearls in Absolute Brandy.

We then went to my friend's house so our kids can go trick or treating around their village. The foundation held up really well even if I've been running around the whole day.

Sunday, my uncle from New Zealand came here for business with a short visit on the side. We went to the park/mall to chill out and for me to get some Lush shampoo bars for Sue (*waves* to Sue).

Just wore Silk Naturals Perfecting Powder in the morning when I went out since I thought I could still have time to wash my face again after lunch and put on foundation but I really didn't have time anymore. So I went out with just the powder on (and nobody got scared of me haha!). Blush was a pressed one that I did of 3 glow powders (with a pic in a previous post). Eyes: Pureluxe Harmony on inner V to middle of lid and Cashmere from middle to outer V and crease and Tanzanite gelliner. Lips were Aromaleigh lipstick in Cognac.

Monday was also busy but I forgot to take pics of the mmu I wore. Went to the mall to buy stuff for my aunt and cousins back in New Zealand. I wore UGloGirl in Butter Pecan, UGG Correcting Powder in Lilac, SN Perfecting Powder, Cargo blush in Tonga, Stila mousse shadow pot in Amber and Maybelline 3d Pearls in Absolute Brandy. I really should've taken pics especially since I just got myself a new digital camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 in Pink!) last Friday.

Well, it's gonna be a busy week for me since we have a lot of national holidays coming up. I'll take pics, promise.

Happy Halloween!
