Pretzel M&Ms

One of the reasons for weight gain - Pretzel M&Ms.  Need I say how yummy they are?  

I saw them end of December at a friend's facebook photo and she said she got it from Amazon.com.  Good thing my cousin was going home for the new year and I hurriedly asked her to get some before she went to the Phils.  And I got it last weekend.  Not just 1 bag but 2! And they're the party size bags of 30 oz. HUGE!!!

Salty, crunchy goodness of pretzels.  The best way for me to eat it which I saw my little girl do is to remove the candy chocolate coating first then you are left with a ball of pretzel.  Saving the best (in this case the pretzel) for last.   We only have 1 bag left, uh-oh.  In Amazon it's around $15 for this size.  My cousin says she got it at Target for the same price.  I heard somewhere that it's available at Clark or Subic Duty Free.   It's as good as the Peanut Butter M&Ms. 

Starbucks Flavored Syrup

Last Christmas was another round of Starbucks' yearly race for stickers to be able to get their planner.  I for one never joined that race because I don't use one.  Last year though, I was able to get one but I gave it to hubby instead.

I drink coffee but regular instant or 3-in-1's are okay with me.  Starbucks is an occasional treat and their smallest size (tall) is hard for me to finish.  Imagine having to spend so much just to get that many stickers in just a few short weeks, ugh! My only solace was that it was my favorite Toffee Nut Latte that I needed to get (or the Frap version since I got my wisdom tooth pulled out and couldn't eat or drink anything hot) that comes out only during the holidays.  I got so sick of Starbucks that I rejoiced when I filled up the card and got the planner.

Ghirardelli brownies

Not beauty related...

My DD convinced me to make her a batch of brownies because she was crying for some from Goldilocks. I promised her I'd make some so I did last night.

Being the lazy me who hates cooking or going anywhere near a stove (I have a fear of fire), baking is the only thing I would do aside from the occasional pasta dishes I cook. I used a box of Ghirardelli brownie walnut mix we've had for ages and added in some more walnuts I found in my mom's tupperware of mixed nuts.

And here's the final product after 38 minutes at 325C.












She's excited to bring some to share in school today.

Best Ube Cake Ever!

I read about A La Creme on the blog Dessert Comes First awhile back and hurriedly texted my good friend who lives in Angeles. She said this is very near their school, Angeles University and promised to bring me some the next time we met.

An hour ago my friend dropped by our house and gave me a box of A La Creme Ube Cake. I was so excited to open it that right after they left I cut myself a slice.

Heaven!!! I have a sweet tooth but I don't like sweet cakes/pastries, if you know what I mean. This cake is dense that a small slice is very filling. It has macapuno and walnuts in the cake and white chocolate discs on top as decor (which my DD ate right away). Both the cake and icing weren't sweet that you could taste the macapuno in it. I loved the crunch from each bite because of the walnuts. YUM!

I savored every bite I took although I still have the rest of the cake in the fridge to finish - Not! I have to SHARE.

Next time I'm gonna ask my friend to bring me the Chocolate Sin cake which is another best-seller.

The White Hat Italian Frozen Yogurt

I've been reading entries from different blogs about The White Hat with good reviews and this made me real curious about it. I do like yogurt since I know how good it is for our health (and keeping the weight down while eating your dessert!).




On a trip to Mall of Asia last weekend I persuaded my DH to check it out with me. We got the regular sized cups with 2 toppings each. One had Green Tea jelly and Ube jelly (both chosen by my daughter) and the other had Sesame Mochi and Cereals with Almonds.

The taste of the yogurt is similar to the flavored (or unflavored) yogurt bought in groceries-- a bit sour but not off-putting. My daughter and hubby both liked it especially the toppings chosen. I loved the Sesame Mochi the best. They all blended well with the yogurt taste.



What's good is that they have 21 choices of toppings from fresh fruit to cheesecake to chocolate. Your choice to mix and match. Plus the different sizes of cups to order. The regular sized one is enough for light eaters like us. It fills us up yet it feels light. Yeah, maybe I could do with a large one next time (or 2 regular ones to try different toppings).

I hope they branch out to nearer locations though. The Mall of Asia is a bit far from where I am located. Do give it a try next time you go to MOA.

B-day FOTD and some packages

Had my birthday dinner last night at Pepper Lunch. The food was great in a unique and fun way of dining. Once the food is served in a 260"C sizzling plate, you have to turn over or mix the food right away to cook it yourself then add the sauce you want. It was really yummy! This resto has branches all over Asia.

We got different slices of cake to share and pass around so we can taste all of them. After dinner, it was coffee for everyone at Coffe Bean & Tea Leaf except for me since I was so full from the food we ate.
