Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a Prosperous New Year ! ! !

Just a quick FOTD on my way to the in-laws for a new year's eve dinner:

Face:
PureLuxe Cream Eraser as primer
Silk Naturals Foundation
Silk Naturals Perfecting Powder

Cheeks:UGloGirl Petale blush
Lips:Silk Naturals Indulge lipstick

Eyes:

UDPP as primer
Silk Naturals Unblush all over lid
Monave Blizzard from lashline to crease
Monave Moondance on lashline to middle of lid
Silk Naturals Whisper on browbone to highlight

-------------

First time I wore a blue shadow on my eyes today. Moondance is a dark blue color that could probably be good for a blue smokey eye. I think it suits my skin tone and the blue shade doesn't scream 80's. Too bad it didn't show up that well in the picture. One of the reasons is that I apply my eye shadows sheerly. Guess I'm still scared of strong colors and thickly applied shadows.

************

I finished my first palette of pressed eye shadows today. I think it took me 1 month to finish this since I only did it when there's nothing else to do.

Since I just got my Monave Sultries samples the other day, I rediscovered my love for Monave multis. Along with the foundation, they were one of the first mineral shadows I've tried a couple of years ago. I love how very pigmented they are and last a long time (especially with a primer) on the eye. I should've gotten the rest of the Sultries collection. As of now I have 8 of them. Gonna experiment with other combinations in the next few days.

Enjoy the New Year!

Discovery Day

Went out today to the Science and Discovery Center with my daughter and hubby. It just opened this October and a blog I read showed wonderful pictures of the place. The reviews I read also said it was really similar to the one in Singapore (although I wouldn't know since I haven't been there).

My FOTD:

Face:
Monistat anti-chafing gel as primer
Monave concealer-foundation in Saturnina
Silk Naturals Dait Bait
Cheeks:Silk Naturals Climax blush
Silk Naturals Heavenly glow powder on cheekbones
Dayna Golden Zephyr glow powder on nosebridge

Lips: Aromaleigh lipstick in Honey

Eyes:

UDPP as primer
Silk Naturals Unblush all over lid
PureLuxe Chocolate Cherries from lashline to crease
Dayna Golden Zephyr glow powder on browbone as highlight

I have a few more photos for FOTD but I don't know why they look blurred when I double checked them. Also, Monave foundation makes my face look so white in pictures! I look like a ghost or rather like someone who got the wrong foundation shade. Saturnina IRL looks perfect on my skintone - it even matches my neck to make my face (which is a tad lighter ) blend in with my neck's color. Grrr! I must remember not to use it when I know I'll be taking pics. It, however, has very good coverage that I don't even need any concealer.

**********

We did have fun especially in the Planetarium. Last time I went to one was in a field trip way back in grade school in our old Planetarium. This new one had a 30 minute show narrated by Harrison Ford. My daughter loved it but got cold (like me) because the air conditioning was on full blast. While going around the center, she got scared by the robots display and almost cried and pleaded to go home. Good thing we talked her out of it since we were waiting for our turn at the Planetarium.

After having our fill of the sciences we went around the Mall of Asia. I've been here a number of times but I still haven't seen the whole mall because it is the 3rd biggest mall in the world (check the link). I said I was on a no buy but:

I can't help myself (especially since hubby was with me and it was okay with him ha ha).
Sue, I got myself a shampoo bar! I got Ultimate Shine plus a slice of Honey I Washed the Kids which my daughter liked. She carried the Lush bag with her after I paid for it.

I also got a Palladio brow fix stick and a few other stuff (the Barbie toothbrush is my daughter's).

**I used the Lush stuff today. I like the shampoo bar...it lathered really well with just a few touches of the bar. The soap slice smells heavenly!

This also came in yesterday:

And these:

The liner is the Charm pink bent taklon liner. It's Sophie's products (she owns The Mineral Makeup Blog, Beautynomics, and a few other blogs). The pigments are Monave Sultries in Blizzard, Sahara, Mirage, Ivy and Envy. The other 3 are Moondance, Mermaid and Light Plum but I'm not sure from which collection. Thanks dear!

Weee! Lots more minerals to play with.

Christmas FOTD

We went to my in-laws on Christmas Eve. Too bad the nephews and nieces weren't complete because the others were at their in-laws for the holidays. My daughter got all her wishes from Santa by coincidence! She wished for a Barbie doll and my brother-in-law gifted her with one.

Here's my Christmas Eve FOTD:

Face:

Monistat anti-chafing gel as Primer
Silk Naturals Foundation 7:2:6 (I:BG:E)
Aromaleigh Pure Cover Concealer #5
Silk Naturals Dait Bait Powder
Dayna Glow powder in Golden Zephyr on nosebridge

Blush:Pure Luxe Enchantress
Silk Naturals Glow Powder in Heavenly on cheekbones

Lips: Maybelline 3D Pearls in Absolute Brandy

Eyes:

UDPP as primer
Silk Naturals Unblush all over lid
Dayna Brownie Points from lashline to crease
Monave Gold Salmon on crease
Dayna Golden Zephyr under browbone as highlight

Christmas Day:

Today also happens to be my husband's birthday! Double celebration so lots of food. I can not eat anymore. My daughter got another Barbie Doll from my mom this time so that's her wish from Santa come true again.

My FOTD:

Face:
Monistat anti-chafing gel as primer
Silk Naturals Foundation 7:2:6 (I:BG:E)
Aromaleigh Pure Cover Concealer #5
Silk Naturals Dait Bait Powder
Dayna Glow powder in Golden Zephyr on nosebridge

Blush: Silk Naturals Climax blush
Silk Naturals Glow powder in Heavenly on cheekbones

Lips: Aromaleigh lipstick in Honey

Eyes:

UDPP as primer
Silk Naturals Unblush all over lid
Dayna Green from lashline to crease
Dayna Glow Powder in Golden Zephyr under browbone as highlight
Indelible Gel liner in Peacock on upper lashline

***
I am really liking the Silk Naturals Glow Powders since they are very pigmented and last long on my oily skin. The more pigmented ones can even stand alone as blush for me. I think next year I will be ordering more of this (the MAC dupes) in full sizes along with refills of the foundation and Dait Bait. The silk content in the products do not dry out my skin and last the whole day with minimal oily breakthroughs

New MMU Site

I found a new mineral makeup store posted at MMM. It's owned by Ellie, a regular over at the forums.

She has 3 foundation formulas and lots of eyeshadows. I went over the site yesterday and the colors are really pretty!

Dreamworld Minerals

The names are interesting too.

A new site for mmu addicts out there like me.

I just don't think I can try it out right now since I'm on a no-buy for a loooong time!

If anyone gets to try it do post reviews or feedback.

My Minerals Bath & Body (MMBB)

I just got my samples today from Lisa of MMBB (in less than a week). Thank you!
Here's a pic:

New more stuff to try out and play with. I think I'm one of the last in Vox to try out Lisa's minerals (sorry :-( ) since I thought she didn't ship international. Now I can join in on the fun!
****************
Okay, I tried out the liquid minerals in medium dark beige and peachy beige. Honestly, I don't think I see any difference between the 2 shades when worn. On the baggies they are very different from each other:

And here's what it looks like on me with 2 layers of the liquid foundation on. The Medium Dark Beige is on my left (your right) and the Peachy Beige is on my right (your left):

Do you see any difference?
I do like the lightness of the foundation and as I write this post 4 hours later, I have no adverse effects from any ingredient in it :-) The coverage is medium for me since I tested this without any primer or other finishing powder. Just straight on foundation.
I'm still waiting for a few other sample shades of the foundation once they're available. I also have to test the ones I have with an added Yellow Adjuster and see the effect on me.
Here are swatches of the e/s samples I got:

The colors look a bit washed out because of the flash. From left to right: Princess Fiona, Wild Mushroom, Mint Julip, Golden Pearl, Sunrise, Antiquity.
I'm liking Antiquity and Wild Mushroom so far but I really like ALL of them! Sue was right, that the colors are not too sparkly but have a sheen to them. I have to try out the e/s next time on my eyes.
Happy weekend everyone!

A Few FOTDs

We had our anniversary dinner last Thursday at a hotel's restaurant called Seven Corners. Our daughter was with us since there was nobody to leave her with at that time we left (everybody's in the office). It had 7 stations of buffet but since hubby and I are not big eaters we were only able to try out 3 or 4 stations.

The food was great! UFC fighters were also having dinner at the next table since they were booked in the hotel for a show/fight last Sunday (Royce Gracie, Shamrock and their teams from the US, Brazil, etc.). If we had known it was them earlier I could have gotten pictures with them LOL.

Here's an FOTD:

Face:
PureLuxe Cream Eraser as primer
Aromaleigh Glissade foundation in 3W + 3Y (I can wear straight 3W or mixed since 3Y needs a bit of warmth)
Aromaleigh Pure Cover concealer in # 5
Silk Naturals Perfecting Powder
Aromaleigh Coquille powder in Nectarine

Blush: Lumiere Spiced Apple Blushing Bronzer
Aromaleigh Perle powder in Scintillate on cheeks

Eyes (I forgot to take a pic):

Lips: Silk Naturals Indulge lipstick (my lippie is grainy!)- I'm loving this shade a lot

************************

Went to a theme park on Saturday night as a spur of the moment decision. There was just too many people and the traffic was very bad even at such a late hour. Since it was night time I just put on Silk Naturals foundation and Cargo blush in Tonga. Lipstick was SN Birthday Suit.

Been running around the past week to complete the requirements for my daughter's passport. I had a hard time convincing her to get an ID photo. She would cry and hide, I think she was traumatized the 1st time a few years ago. We went in for a photo shoot for my cousin's studio and she got scared of the lights. At least I got her to pose now since I bribed her with going to Disneyland in exchange for the ID pic. Everyday now she tells me when we're going to Disneyland (US or HK?) and I just tell her we're still fixing her passport.

Will go to the Dept. of Foreign Affairs on Thursday for fingerprinting (the new e-passport). It's a good thing the DFA now has a service wherein kids don't have to come in and go thru long lines or interviews but the mother or father will have to go instead.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

December sure is a busy month.

Saturday Night Out

DH and I went to his induction as a Diplomate of The Philippine Board of Surgery. It was held at the EDSA Sangri-la Hotel so I took my sweet time getting ready.
FOTN (face of the night):

Pure Luxe Cream eraser as Primer
Ocean Mist Foundation in Sandstone (3 layers)
Aromaleigh Pure Concealer in # 5
Silk Naturals Perfecting Powder
Ocean Mist Saffron concealer under eyes
Aromaleigh Coquille powder in Nectarine
Blush: Lumiere Hibiscus
Dayna's Glow powder in Golden Zephyr on nose bridge
a palette mix of BE Rose Radiance, Lumiere Natural Radiance and Dayna's Peach Glow on top of blush, and T-zone
Lips: Aromaleigh listick in Cognac
Eyes:
UDPP Primer Potion
Silk Naturals Unblush all over lid as base
Meow Ideal Eyes Breakfast at Kitty's from lashline to crease
Meow Ideal Eyes You Had Me at Meow on crease
Meow Ideal Eyes Catablanca on outer V
Dayna's Glow powder in Golden Zephyr as highlight on brow bone
MAD's Magnetism indelible gelliner on upper and lower lashline and brows
lashes curled, no mascara
My hair:I put it into a twisted ponytail. This looks complicated but it really isn't. I used a tool to do this. You put your hair in a loose ponytail first then insert the stick with a loop at the end in the middle of the ponytail near your scalp. The loose end of your hair is inserted into the loop and you just pull it out until the hair twists...and that's it!

Here's a shot of my shoe (which I really love):

It's by VNC ( I think it's a Malaysian brand) and they ake really soft and comfortable shoes even if they're high heels. You can run in them and your feet won't hurt. Plus it's not that expensive, too.
Nail polish is China Glaze in Melbourne Mauve. I also put on some Palmer's Leg Gloss.
We had a great night and the food was good.

**I'm proud of you DH!
