Uh, I'm Still Alive!

Sorry haven't blogged in a while.  The holidays were pretty busy and little ole' me just wanted to veg around and eat and ... go shopping, what else!

Shopping mostly online from 6pm.com (got a bag for me and shoes for DD), Bath & Body Works (semi-annual sale!), Magnums.net (got myself a Longchamp Le Pliage in Bilberry!!!) and some other mineral makeup stores.  I also was able to go to the newly opened Etude House here in Manila and got a few things which I will post soon.

Actually, I still have sooo much to review and post, all of which are in draft form since last year but just don't have the inspiration to write as of yet.  Also Haloscan commenting still has been bugging me and I don't have a solution to it yet.

To start off the year, I was able to do a lot of things that I can now cross off my list.

1. Went to the dentist to have the last of my wisdom teeth pulled out.  It's been giving me problems and I kept putting it off but at last it's over and done with.  Had bi-annual prophy and other dental work done.  Yep, I'm OC with my teeth.

2. Got hubby lifetime insurance.   Did this last month when it should have been done years ago.  And the insurance I got for him has dividends and retirement benefits and all that stuff.  That's one of the best investments we're putting our savings to.  At least we're all taken cared of in the future.  I got my own when I was working and finished paying it in 5 years.  Now I'm earning dividends for my retirement years (yahoo!).  Personal insurance was also where I put most of my salary when I started working and now I don't have to think about it anymore.  Good thing I was thinking ahead (or was I?)

3. Reached our savings goal for last year.  Now we're going up to 25% of every paycheck that goes into untouchable savings.  This isn't easy at all but if you're used to doing it then everything will fall into place-- budget for school, bills, gas and other "needs" or wants. Haven't you noticed that I'm in charge of the $$$ in the family? Hubby leaves everything up to me --- he trusts me big time LOL!

Hubby read a column in the papers a couple of weeks ago about a mantra for having financial abundance.  Much like what I've seen on Oprah before-- write down what you want, post it and read it aloud always.  Eventually you will get what you wrote because of the positive energy.  What we did is copied the mantra and typed it out in big bold letters.  I then posted it on my dresser so it will be easy to see and we say it out loud everyday.  It is probably working because good things are coming our way.  Hopefully for the rest of the years to come.  Oh, and part of it is thanking God for the financial abundance.

This is going to be a bright New Year!  (Let good vibes come our way).

Post the mantra for financial abundant? I'd like to see it. :)

Hi Jen:

1. Money flows to me easily and effortlessly.
2. The more I give, the more I receive. The more I receive, the more I am able to give. And the happier and healthier I become.
3. Thank you God, for the financial abundance.
