Buff'd Haul

I got my Buff'd package in just 5 business days. Woohoo! That's because I ordered the refill kit which was sent in a medium sized brown envelope so I got it fast.

The refill kit I got is Ginger (light with heavier yellow undertones) in Original formula. I already have the shade Buff (Medium with subtle yellow undertones) but it eventually turned dark on me and lacked yellow. My exact shade is Moccasin (medium light with heavier yellow undertones) but I got Ginger to add to Buff and end up with Moccasin (if that makes any sense).

I prefer the Original formula (full-coverage foundation with fantastic oil absorption and natural UV protection) because of it's medium to heavy coverage.

Ingredients: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, mica, iron oxide, ultramarines

In fact it is already heavy enough for me and is still buildable. I've tried the concealing formula from a sample someone gave me and I could already feel it on my face. Others who are looking for really heavy coverage would love this. I'll just use mine as a concealer.

I played around with the foundation powders yesterday and mixed my shade. My package also included samples of a mineral eyeshadow in Mushroom and a mineral bronzer in Toast.

Swatch:

Toast looks more like a blush for me and is really pretty. It isn't too shimmery but gives just enough sheen for the cheeks. Mushroom is described as a "shimmery light tan".

EOTD: Mushroom on my eyelids. No primer.

FOTD:

What I used:

Buff'd foundation mix of 50/50 Ginger + Buff in Original formula
Buff'd bronzer in Toast on cheeks
Buff'd Mushroom on lids
Silk Naturals Rare Berry gloss on lips

Buff'd Moccasin

I previously tried out Buff'd in Almond but the other shade I tried which is Moccasin (medium light shade with heavier yellow undertones) seems to be a much better match.  Hmm...now I'm confused :-)

I think I need to mix Ginger (light shade with heavier yellow undertones) with my existing Buff shade (medium with subtle yellow undertones) to make it fall into the Moccasin category.  Any other  suggestions from readers would be much appreciated.

I'm wearing Buff'd Moccasin foundation and MAC tinted lip conditioner.

Much as I like the concealing formula it seems to be a bit heavy for me the more I use it so I'm going to stick to the original formula.  Especially now that it's summer, I prefer light to medium coverage foundation (and sometimes I only use a finishing powder and the Eyeko Tinted Cream on the cheeks).

If you want to try out Buff'd they have reasonably priced samples that ship free to anywhere in the world.

Looking for my new Buff'd shade

The past year I matched the shade Buff from mmu company Buff'd.   In fact I have a full size of it.  This year I noticed that it would turn dark on me everytime I wore it.  I don't think I'm acidic because this only happens with Buff'd.   I decided to get a lighter shade to mix with my Buff one.

Good thing I got the Buff'd shades I needed from a package I got last week full of foundation samples.  Here's a few swatches:

Almond is the shade I need to be (a notch lighter than Buff).  I need Antique to add to Buff to get Almond.  I tried Almond and it is a good match.  I could even get a shade more yellow.

I'm wearing:

Almond in the Concealing formula in 1 layer.
Blush is AwG in Radiant
MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink

The concealing formula really conceals!  It is more heavy in coverage than the Original formula and I'm still debating which one I'll get.  I have the original formula and that is good enough for me.

My one shadow EOTD from last week.

I'm using Lumiere Honey Brown and this was taken 5-6 hours after application.  Primer was Artdeco Eyeshadow base.

Buff'd Match

Tried out my Buff'd samples today to get my color match. I got Almond, Buff and Caramel. So far, I think I like Buff best on me and in photos.

With Almond on:

This looks too light on me especially in photos. Excuse the dark circles under my eyes. We got home late last night from a wake.

With Buff on:

This doesn't look too light even with flash.

With Caramel on:

Caramel looks perfect with flash but I look like I have bronzer on in natural light. Even a few hours later (which is right now that I'm posting this) I still look a bit tanned. I could probably use this when I get a bit tan this summer.

I guess Buff is my buff'd shade :-)

Someone from our local forum gave me lots of new mmu to try out. She made them herself but some don't have any labels so I don't know what they are supposed to be.
They're called "I Heart Minerals".

Mail Day

Mail came in today in the form of my Cory and Buff'd samples.

I ordered this new batch from Cory Cosmetics because Beyond Cream seemed a bit light on my skin. I got Carmel Cream plus lots of mica-free matte eyeshadow and blush samples.

Mica-Free Foundations

Blushes

Finalizers

Mica-Free e/s

Buff'd Cosmetics: I got samples of those with slight yellow undertones because their foundations seem to run too yellow. They also gave me a blush sample in Brick. Buff'd now offers smaller samples on their website but they are for sale. Good thing I got these ordered for free by emailing their company.
